Senior Accountant

Location: LARRY & SONS Plumbing & HVAC - Hagerstown MD
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site / Hybrid with some Work From Home opportunity a day or two weekly

Join our growing Finance Team as a Senior Accountant! We are looking for an experienced accounting professional to support our Plumbing, HVAC, Sewer, and Electrical businesses. This role will work closely with the Regional Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting across three locations. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, and fixed asset management.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations, depreciation, and disposal entries.
• Prepare monthly reporting packages, including detailed budget variance analysis.
• Assist with the monthly close process, income statement activity, and intercompany transactions.
• Collaborate with the Controller to develop and improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Support financial analysis and reporting for business operations.
• Assist with year-end audit and tax requirements.
• Train, develop, and manage accounting staff.

Preferred Experience:

• Multi-entity, intercompany accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Sage Intacct, Concur, Service Titan, or similar systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
• CPA preferred or in progress.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and ability to understand accounting's role in broader operational processes.

Working Conditions:

• Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Some travel by car may be required to local entities (25%).
