ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting functions including monthly close, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and close coordination with other departments and MTG shared services – strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results on a monthly and annual basis; specifically, Cash, AR, AP, Accrued Expenses and Prepaids monthly reconciled
• Oversee a team of 2-3 AR, AP and accounting persons as well as hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff as needed and maintaining a motivated team and fostering a collaborative environment
• Coordinating and preparing internal financial statements for reporting to Freedom and MTG management on a monthly basis – ability to understand and discuss trends and KPIs versus budget and prior year important
• Manage the annual budgeting/forecasting process for Freedom across all departments and locations in coordination with broader MTG budgeting process.
• Ownership at Freedom for the transition from QuickBooks online to Sage Intaact, including close partnership with MTG project team to ensure smooth system implementation and reconciliation of all subledger and ledgers
• Work with MTG and external auditors to manage the year-end audit requests, including interim and year-end substantive testing. Helping to manage PBC list and coordinate deliverables to financial auditors.
• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes and controls. Knowledge of US GAAP critical, and an ability to understand how the accounting activity is part of a broader operational flow
• Implement and adhere to the internal controls, governance and Accounting standard operating procedures prescribed by the MTG Corporate Contoller
• Ability to work in matrix reporting environment with reporting to local management and corporate accounting team critical to success. Ability to create strong relationships and understand the operational aspects and challenges of the business important.
• Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process as needed and perform ad hoc analysis requests needed by management
• As needed oversight of regulatory or tax requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / ABILITIES:

• Communicate effectively using internal/external customer service and develop a teamwork focused and collaborative environment
• Strong attention to organization and detail and ensuring on a monthly basis needed work is performed
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required
• CPA is preferred
• Accounting system implementation experience preferred
• 7-10+ years of experience working in accounting department, management experience of 2-4 employees required
• Experience with Sage Intaact and Service Titan a plus
• Experience in Home Services (HVAC/Plumbing) preferred
