Plumbing Service Manager

Service Manager – Plumbing Team

Location: Greenbelt, MD (Len The Plumber Heating & Air – PG/Montgomery County Region)

Work Type: Full-Time, Salaried Exempt

Schedule: Standard business hours with flexibility to meet operational needs

Compensation: $85,000 – $110,000 annually + Monthly Bonus Eligibility (Team/Branch Performance)

Reports To: Plumbing Branch Manager

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of 15+ residential plumbing service technicians
  • Hire, train, and develop technicians to maximize sales, customer service, and KPI results
  • Respond promptly to operational, employee, and customer issues, ensuring resolution
  • Monitor departmental KPIs and adjust manpower allocations to meet daily/weekly/monthly goals
  • Oversee truck inspections, technician presentation, and job quality standards
  • Promote customer satisfaction by handling escalations with professionalism and urgency
  • Assist with administrative functions including invoicing, orders, and inventory tracking
  • Maintain and optimize service desk efficiency and productivity
  • Audit work and customer interactions to ensure company standards are met
  • Collaborate with manufacturers, dealers, and vendors to support service operations
  • Maintain strong knowledge of plumbing regulations, safety requirements, and industry innovations

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • 3–5 years of direct management experience in the plumbing industry, OR proven success as a residential service technician with leadership experience in related industries (HVAC, Pest Control, Roofing, Landscaping, etc.)
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to mobilize a team toward goals (revenue, efficiency, customer service)
  • Ability to solve complex problems, prioritize effectively, and take decisive action in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – with superb customer service focus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM or ERP platforms (ServiceTitan experience a plus)

Preferred:

  • Active Journeyman or Master Plumbing License
  • Experience with NEXSTAR training and processes
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field
